We admit it: this product blurs the boundaries between ‘practical’ and ‘simply beautiful’. The ceramic Shigaraki Magnetic Button by Cohana is moulded in the Japanese province of the same name by a renowned manufacturer and is available in five colours.
Cohana is a Japanese artists’ collective that specialises in the production and distribution of unusual sewing accessories. In doing so, the makers always fall back on old knowledge. In this case, they have been inspired by traditional Japanese blacksmithing. Since the 17th century, so-called Nambu Tekki vessels have been cast there. These are cast-iron utensils that have an uneven surface and are finished without an enamel layer. A special final treatment ensures that the vessels do not rust later. Nambu Tekki are extraordinarily durable and are only made in Japan.
Dimensions: 25mm wide, 13mm high
The magnetic button has a stylised thread and a felted pad on the bottom side.
