Have you already worked on a real masterpiece? Maybe a blouse tailored to your measurements or a body-hugging dress? Then you’ve probably sewn a muslin piece.
This is the name given to an experimental piece where the main aim is to check the fit of the pattern and bring it into harmony with your own figure. It’s time-consuming to put in an extra round, but it’s worth it.
You don’t need extremely high-quality fabric for this kind of test run, of course. But since the made-to-measure pieces are usually made of woven fabric, a simple cotton fabric in plain weave does the trick.
‘Our’ Muslin Fabric or Moulure (that’s the French word for it) in colourway Stone is greyish brown.
Ideally, the fabric should be similar in weight and touch to the later ‘good’ fabric. At 230g/m2, this muslin fabric is well suited for blazers, skirts and trousers.
In addition, we have a test fabric for lighter projects (blouses and shirts) with a square metre weight of 230g.
