Plisse is the coriander of fabric types. You either love pleats – or you hate them. We don’t have to explain where we stand at Hello Heidi, do we? For us, pleated is something extremely cool, a fabric with history and a very special attitude. If you don’t combine it with perms, you can’t go wrong with pleated fabric.
After the success of our Sateen Plisse, now comes a less flashy version for spring. Tada, we present the Mini Plisse, or Mini Pli for short. The pleats, irreversibly placed in the fabric by heat, run accurately and are spaced a few milimeters apart.
- The pleats run at right angles to the selvedge. This means that the pleat is always 145cm high. You decide whether you want to sew a dress or a maxi skirt from the piece of fabric – the fabric height is sufficient for both variations.
- The selvedge is also the hem of the skirt, which does not need to be serged or sewn around.
- If you are unsure how much pleating you need for a pleated skirt, measure the circumference of your hips. If, for example, you measure 100cm at the widest point, you should definitely order a little more pleated fabric than just one meter. Normally, the pleated fabric is gathered in so that it hugs the wearer’s hips instead of ‘popping’ in the folds.
- As the fabric is made entirely of polyester, you can start straight away; there is no need for pre-washing or hemming.
Under the ‘Additional Information’ tab you will find the numbers of the matching sewing and overlock threads.
The Mini Pli can be beautifully combined with our Twill Elastic ribbons.
