Not all the work involved in sewing can be transferred to the machines. Sometimes you have to reach for needle and thread. That’s why no sewing drawer should be without a thimble.

Of course, there are countless models on the market, and most of them serve their purpose well. But they are rarely really beautiful.

The wonderful thimble by Bohin is an exception. The metal blanks are made in France and covered with a thin layer of 24-carat gold. They are also richly decorated – very much in the 19th century tradition.

Most people wear the thimble on the middle finger of the left hand (right-handers) or vice versa (left-handers). The decisive factor in the choice is the circumference of this finger in the area of the upper limb. Although there are countless sizes, these three cover the spectrum well:
