Our new collection ‘Flora’ is a tribute to Indian Summer, the time between September and October. We wanted colours, we wanted joy. Our designer Anne Bomio has combined two new patterns (Iris and Leaves) with a familiar one (Garland) and created three colour worlds: Blue, Henna and Lilac.
The Flora Leaves variant in the shade Blue consists of leaves (dark blue) and fruits (copper, pink, light blue) on a softly tinted background.
The base is a so-called ‘Cotton Sateen’. Sateen/Satin is a technical term for fabrics that have been mercerised. This is the name given to a finishing step in which the cotton is deliberately soaked in a lye. This causes the fibres to swell, making their surface denser. This in turn leads to a glossy effect that is so typical of this fabric quality. The pre-treatment has another positive effect: the printed image appears clearer, the colours shine more intensely than with normal woven fabric.
Under the tab ‘Additional information’ you will find the numbers of the sewing and overlock threads that match the colours.
